On 25 February 2026, at Lao-ITECC Exhibition Center, the Lao Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise Exhibition 2026 (Lao MSME Expo 2026) was officially opened under the theme: “Processed Agricultural Value Chains and Inclusive Nature-Based Tourism.”
The opening ceremony was honored by the presence of H.E. Sonexay Siphandone, Deputy Prime Minister, together with H.E. Malaythong Kommasith, Minister of Industry and Commerce, who presided over the event.
This exhibition marks a major gathering of MSME entrepreneurs from across the country and from abroad, including Thailand, Vietnam, and the People’s Republic of China. It also celebrates 20 years of MSME promotion and highlights the significant progress and expansion of MSMEs, which serve as a key driving force of the national economy.
On this occasion, EDL-Generation Public Company (EDL-Gen) also supported and participated in the exhibition by opening a booth to showcase and sell products from communities surrounding its hydropower projects.
The featured products included coffee from Ban Setkhod, a community near Xeset 3 Hydropower Plant; rice from Ban Chaeng, a riverside community along Nam Ngum 1 Hydropower Plant; melons grown at the demonstration farm of Nam Mang 3 Hydropower Plant; as well as cotton textiles and brooms produced by resettlement community, namely Ban Samakkhixay and Ban Phou Xang, associated with Nam Khan 2-3 Hydropower Project.
All of these products have been promoted and supported by EDL-Gen and were brought to the exhibition for display and sale. This initiative highlights EDL-Gen’s role in contributing to community development and enhancing local products to access broader markets.
Lao MSME Expo 2026 will run until Sunday, 1 March 2026. In addition to product exhibitions, the event features business seminars, business matching activities, and an outstanding MSME awards ceremony.
