EDL-Generation Public Company (EDL-Gen) remains committed to its business philosophy of growing alongside the sustainable development of society and local communities. With a strong commitment to supporting and promoting education for youth in remote areas, EDL-Gen organized a volunteer activity to repair school buildings for Primary schools’ students in Vang Heua Village and Pa Paek Village, which both are located within Phou Khao Khouay National Protected Area in Thoulakhom District, Vientiane Province. Both villages are situated in the surrounding area of the Nam Mang 3 Hydropower Plant
The two villages were affected by strong storms and hail, which caused considerable damage to the roofs of Vang Heua Complete Primary School, Pa Paek Complete Primary School, and Vang Heua Kindergarten School.
This social contribution activity was held from 23 to 24 July 2026 through close cooperation between the Environment and Community Department, the Lao People’s Revolutionary Youth Union grassroots unit of EDL-Gen, and staff members from Nam Mang 3 Hydropower Plant.
To ensure that the activity was effectively implemented and achieved practical results, the EDL-Gen grassroots youth committee mobilized youth volunteers to work together with Nam Mang 3 Hydropower Plant staff in carrying out the repair work on site.
The work plan was clearly divided into two days. During the activity, the volunteer team repaired school buildings in Vang Heua Village and then continued their mission to repair school buildings in Pa Paek Village.
EDL-Gen believes that a good learning environment is an important foundation for quality education. This school improvement activity was not only about repairing building structures, but also about sharing care, warmth, and encouragement with students and teachers in the communities surrounding Nam Mang 3 Hydropower Plant, helping bring smiles and renewed motivation for teaching, learning, and future self-development.
