Progress and Outstanding Results in 2025:

Since the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on February 28, 2025, between Mr. Daovieng Sounanthalath representing EDL-Gen and Professor Dr. Pongruk Sribanditmongkol, President of CMU, representing CMU, both parties have been actively engaged in activities including:

• Technical Capacity Building: Training was conducted on “Water Management and Reservoir Operation for Hydropower Production in Laos Phase 1” to enhance water and reservoir management skills. Additionally, there was an exchange of lessons learned about the Remote Control system at Mae Ngat Dam in Chiang Mai Province.

• Modernization with IoT and AI: EDL-Gen employees learned the fundamentals of implementing Internet of Things (IoT) in hydropower operations, including the use of sensors, cloud data storage, and the application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) for predictive maintenance of dams.

• Educational Scholarship Support: In 2025, EDL-Gen awarded two master’s degree scholarships at Chiang Mai University to employees. Additionally, approval was received for two more scholarships per year from the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT).

Direction and Action Plan for 2026:

Although there were some limitations in the first year of implementation, actual performance in certain areas exceeded the planned targets. For 2026, EDL-Gen plans to expand cooperation more extensively by setting goals to increase management meetings, technical exchanges, and training activities significantly more than before (an increase of 175% compared to 2025) to ensure that our personnel possess world-class knowledge and capabilities.
