Vientiane Province, Lao PDR – December 12, 2025, EDL-Generation Public Company (EDL-Gen) organized a meeting and communication activity with Lao media, with participation from EDL-Gen’s management team and Nam Ngum 1 Hydropower Dam at the dam site.

The event was attended by Mr. Daovieng Sounanthalath, Deputy Managing Director of EDL-Gen, and Mr. Laeongen Chanthabouly, Director of Nam Ngum 1 Hydropower Plant, who met with the media on this occasion.

The main purpose of the activity was to promote greater understanding among Lao media about the operations and responsibilities of EDL-Gen and Nam Ngum 1 Hydropower Plant.

During the activity, EDL-Gen organized presentations to explain about the project, while providing opportunities for the media to ask questions openly.

A key activity was taking the media to visit Nam Ngum 1 Hydropower Plant, which is an important hydropower dam of EDL-Gen. During this visit, there was also a presentation of EDL-Gen’s profile video to provide the media with a brief overview of information.

Furthermore, the purpose of organizing this activity was for the media to understand the power generation process of the power plant, the company’s development plans, sustainable environmental management, and the corporate social responsibility work that EDL-Gen has carried out in the past and will continue in the future.

EDL-Gen also reaffirmed the company’s operations that align with the government’s green and sustainable development policies.

EDL-Gen hopes that this media meeting and visit will help the media present accurate and comprehensive news about the company’s role in contributing to the electricity and energy sector of the Lao PDR.
