On November 11, 2025, at the Lao Securities Exchange conference hall, Vientiane Capital, the Lao Securities Commission Office (LSCO) organized a ceremony to summarize the achievements of the Lao Capital Market on its 15th anniversary (2010–2025), with Mr. Saleumxay Kommasith, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the LSCO, presiding over the ceremony.
At the ceremony, Mr. Souksavart Sosouphanh, Managing Director of EDL-Generation Public Company (EDL-Gen), received certificates of commendation, appreciation certificates, and commemorative plaques from Mr. Saleumxay Kommasith, together with Mrs. Bounkham Vorachit Governor of the Bank of the Lao PDR, and Mrs Phengsy Phengmeuang Secretary-General, Lao Securities Commission Office.
The Lao Capital Market over the past 15 years has achieved success in many areas, such as:
- Increase in capital raised through the market relative to GDP
- Continuous growth in the number of listed companies and new investors
- Development of legal frameworks and expansion of cooperation with regional and international countries
Mrs Phengsy Phengmeuang Secretary-General, Lao Securities Commission Office, we have presented the progress report of our recent operations, along with the five-year development plan aimed at upgrading the secondary market and promoting effective and sustainable growth. At the same time, Mr. Saleumxay Kommasith Deputy Prime Minister provided guidance to various business sectors to drive the Lao capital market’s growth in both quantity and quality, ensuring it remains modern, green, and sustainable.
