On October 22-23, 2025, EDL-Generation Public Company (EDL-Gen) organized an important internal training on the topic of “Internal Management System Audit and Procurement Audit” at the 1st floor conference hall of Electricite Du Laos.
At the opening ceremony, Mr. Souksavath Sosouphanh, Managing Director of EDL-Gen, emphasized that: “Audit work is one of the most important tasks for business operations, which plays a crucial role in EDL-Gen’s comprehensive reform plan. We must focus on ensuring that work implementation systems in all areas are accurate, transparent, auditable, and meet international standards in accordance with the company’s vision and mission.”
Although it only lasted 2 short days, this training received participation from those who play important roles in operations throughout EDL-Gen.
All 60 participants were senior management personnel:
- Board of Directors from headquarters departments
- Department-level staff
- Dam Directors at dams managed by EDL-Gen
The training results showed that the topics researched and lessons learned were aligned with the objectives of the reform plan, especially in elevating audit and inspection work throughout EDL-Gen.
Key content that participants studied in this session included:
- Internal Control System:
- Meaning and importance of the control system.
- Application of ISSAI (International Standards of Supreme Audit Institutions) audit manual and COSO (The Committee of Sponsoring Organizations of the Treadway Commission) principles, which are international standards for designing, implementing, and evaluating internal control systems.
- Procurement Audit:
- Systematic procedures for preparation, implementation, and summary reporting of procurement audit results.
In addition, emphasis was placed on exchanging lessons so that participants can apply legal tools, regulations, and state audit standards that are directly relevant to EDL-Gen.
At the closing ceremony, Mr. Souksavath expressed appreciation for the success of the training and presented certificates to all participants to confirm their acquisition of knowledge and readiness to apply it in actual work.
EDL-Gen affirms that: We continue to focus on developing personnel and audit-inspection work to create stability, transparency, and sustainability in all operations.
