On June 3 2023, Electricite du Laos (EDL), and Generation Public Company (EDL-Gen) jointly hosted a ceremony to plant tree and release fish to celebrate National Abor Day on June 1, 2023. At Namluek Hydropower plant in Xaysomboun district, Vientiane province.

The purpose of the ceremony was to protect environment for sustainability.

Attending the event were, Mr. Chanthaboun Soukaloun, Vice Chairman of EDL-Gen, The Managing Director of Electricite du Laos (EDL), Mr. Vanhseng Vannavong, Acting Managing Director & Acting CEO of EDL-Generation Public Company (EDL-Gen), Chief of Lonagsan district and other guests.

For the event, about 200 saplings were planted in the area of the dam. Additionally to preserve and expand fish species in natural river, the participants released 10.000 fish to downstream river of the power plant.

The hosts also handed over educational and sport equipments to primary schools of Phoupaman and Thamdin villages.
