EDL-Gen hosts event to mark National Arbour Day and International Children’s Day

EDL-Generation Public Company (EDL-Gen) hold a ceremony to plant tree and release fish at Namsana Hydro Power Plant (Namsana HPP), Kasi district, Vientiane province on June 1, 2022 to mark National Arbour Day and International Children’s Day

Attending the event were Mr. Sithon Sengphachan, Chief of Kasi district, Vientiane province, Mr. Duangsy Pharanhok, CEO of EDL-Gen, local authority, directors and staffs of HPPs.

For the event, about 200 saplings including Mai Du, Mai Khamphi, Mai Khayoung, Mai Yangna, Mai Phayom and other were planted in the area of the dam.

Additionally to preserve and expand fish species in natural river, the participants released 10.000 fish to downstream river of the power plant.

Throughout 11 years of business operation, EDL-Gen has planted over 50,000 saplings covering 60 hectares in the areas of its hydropower plants and released over 500,000 fish in natural rivers near the projects.

For the year 2022 not only at Namsana HPP, other EDL-Gen’s HPPs also hold the ceremony to mark the National Arbour Day and the International Children’s Day.
