Nam Ngum -1 HPP discloses water management in dry season

On 7 November 2019, Mr Siliphom Seng-onkeo, Managing Director of Nam Ngum -1 Hydropower Plant and his team made presentation about water management for the dry season at conference hall of Xaythany district Vientiane.

The main purpose of the presentation was to inform officials of Xaythany district about heavy dry of Nam Ngum River when it compared to several years ago. Attending the event were leading officials, village chiefs, villagers and students in Xaythany district.
Nowadays, one of seven turbines generates electricity and releases 47 cubic meters of water to downstream. The installed capacity of the turbine was 17.5 Megawatts.
On 12 November 2019, Water level was recorded as 206.81 meters above sea level. The water in reservoir was about 5.300 million cubic meters or 74.67%.
