EDL-Gen holds shares in HPPs along Mekong River

EDL-Generation Public Company (EDL-Gen) entrusts investors by purchasing shares in two hydropower plants along Mekong River – Xayabouri and Don Sahong projects. The two projects are scheduled to officially commercial operate in November 2019. The Don Sahong Hydropower Project is situated in Khong District, Champasak Province, Lao PDR. The Run-of-River facility has total installed capacity of 260 Megawatts with the electrical generation of 2,028 million kilowatt hour per year.

In addition, Xayabouri hydropower plant is scheduled to officially commercial operate within 2019. The run-of-river hydroelectric dam has installed capacity of 1,285 Megawatts with the electrical generation of 7,370 million kilowatt hour per year. EDL-Gen holds 20% shares of these two hydropower plants respectively.
