PM monitors the releasing of water from Nam Ngum Reservoir after opening spillway

In September 6, 2018 Mr. Thongloun Sisoulith, Prime Minister of Lao PDR along with leading government delegation from Ministry of Energy and Mines, Agriculture and Forestry, Vientiane provincial governor and deputy ministers visited Nam Ngum -1 Hydropower Plant (HPP) to monitor the conditions of the project after opening its spillways. The leading government delegation were welcomed by leaderships of Electricity Du Laos and EDL-Generation Public Company.

On this special occasion, Mr. Bouavanh Chansavath, Managing Director of Nam Ngum -1 HPP reported situation of the water management from the past to present, particularly after the opening of spillway of Nam Ngum-1 HPP as well as the answered all questions on the water management of Nam Ngum reservoir. After meeting, the delegation visited the dam crest area where water flows through spillways to downstream of Nam Ngum -1 HPP.
