Release of water through Nam Ngum -1 HPP’s spillway, August 12, 2018

According to the submission from EDL-Generation Public Company to Permanent Secretary of Vientiane Capital and Vientiane province on August 9, 2018, Nam Ngum -1 Hydro Power Plant

released water through its spillway at 9:00 AM, August 12, 2018 in Keo Oudom district, Vientiane province. All four channels of spillway gate were opened at 40 cm, allowing 148 cubic meter of water per second flow to downstream of Nam Gnum river. It’s anticipated that water level in downstream could be possibly higher between 5 cm to 10 cm after the opening the spillway.
